Kingdom Mindset, Hormone Health, Weight Loss
May 2026
Have you ever noticed that one week you feel motivated, energized, and disciplined… and the next week you are exhausted, craving everything in sight, and struggling to stay consistent?
Many women immediately assume something is wrong with them. Maybe you have wondered why weight loss feels easy one week and impossible the next, why cravings suddenly feel overwhelming, or why your energy completely crashes before your period.
Friend, you are not crazy, and you are not failing.
Your hormones matter more than most women have ever been taught.
Recently on the Kingdom Fit Moms Podcast, I sat down with hormone coach and fertility educator Becca Yawn from the For the Love of Hormones podcast to talk about cycle syncing, hormones, and how women can work with their bodies instead of constantly fighting against them. Honestly, this conversation brings so much grace into the health journey.
Most women think of their “cycle” as only their period, but your cycle actually includes your entire hormonal rhythm from the first day of your period until the day before your next one.
Throughout the month, hormones naturally rise and fall, which affects things like:
Instead of expecting your body to perform exactly the same every single day, cycle syncing allows you to honor the season your body is currently in. That shift alone can remove so much guilt.
One of the biggest lies women believe is this: “If I were more disciplined, I would feel the same every day.”
But women are not designed like machines. Hormones naturally influence energy levels, recovery, appetite, and emotional resilience. That does not mean we become controlled by our hormones. It simply means wisdom matters.
There may be weeks where strength workouts feel amazing, you feel social and motivated, and your body recovers quickly. Then there are other weeks where you need more rest, cravings increase, energy feels lower, and intense workouts leave you drained.
Understanding those rhythms helps you stop fighting your body and start supporting it.

One of the most practical parts of our conversation centered around movement. Becca emphasized something I deeply agree with: not every phase of your cycle needs the same intensity level.
There are seasons for:
And there are also seasons for:
This does not mean stopping movement completely. It means adjusting your expectations and learning how to work with your body instead of constantly overriding it. For many women, this is the missing piece that helps prevent burnout.
Many women, especially those with athletic backgrounds, were taught to push through exhaustion. But constantly forcing intense workouts while hormones are depleted can actually increase stress on the body.
This is especially important for women who are:
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is scale back temporarily and allow the body to recover. That is not weakness. That is wisdom.
If you crave carbs or chocolate before your period, you are not lacking self-control.
Hormonal shifts naturally impact hunger and cravings throughout the cycle, which is why some women feel frustrated trying to follow extremely rigid plans all month long. Your body has changing needs.
Instead of responding with shame, we can respond with awareness and nourishment.
Becca shared several practical nutrition strategies that can support hormonal health naturally.
For women with painful or heavy periods, reducing inflammatory foods before menstruation may help support the body.
She specifically mentioned reducing:
And increasing supportive nutrients like turmeric.
One interesting tool Becca discussed is seed cycling. Different seeds are used during different phases of the cycle to support estrogen and progesterone naturally.
While seed cycling is not a magic solution, it can be one helpful piece of a larger hormone-supportive lifestyle.
One of my favorite parts of this conversation is how much grace it creates for women.
So many women feel defeated because they expect themselves to perform exactly the same every single day. But your body was created with rhythms. There are seasons to maximize, seasons to slow down, and seasons for restoration.
Learning those rhythms does not make you weak. It helps you become sustainable.
I also love that this conversation brings God back into the picture.
Your hormones are not an inconvenience. Your body is not fighting against you. God designed women uniquely and intentionally.
The goal is not obsession with hormones. The goal is stewardship.
When we begin paying attention to how God designed the body, we often find more peace, more consistency, and more freedom.
Friend, if you have felt frustrated by your energy, cravings, or inconsistency, I hope this conversation encourages you.
You are not lazy. You are not broken. You may simply need to start listening to your body differently.
Weight loss is not about punishing yourself into consistency. It is about learning how to support the body God gave you. Sometimes that starts with slowing down long enough to understand what your body has been trying to say all along.
