The holidays bring out the best memories and sometimes the hardest food struggles.
You walk into a party determined to “be good,” and five minutes later you are holding a plate full of appetizers you did not choose. You start wondering how old habits showed up so quickly and why you feel powerless all over again.
Here is the truth.
You do not have to walk into holiday gatherings feeling defenseless around food.
God does not ask you to simply react to whatever is on the table. He equips you to walk into every environment prepared spiritually, emotionally, and physically so you can stay aligned with your goals and enjoy the season with peace.
Today I am teaching you The Armor Method, a simple Kingdom centered strategy that helps you approach holiday food with confidence instead of anxiety.
Let’s get started.
Inside Fit Moms Academy we celebrate every breakthrough because transformation happens one small step at a time.
This week we are celebrating Trisha. She has lost 25 pounds in six months and has discovered a whole new love for real food. She recently shared that she is exploring more nutrition resources because she cannot believe how God designed food to heal and restore the body. It is incredible to see her excitement grow as she learns.
If you have not listened to her full story, go back to episode 204. It will bless you.
The fear of choosing another eating plan and failing again is real.
Maybe you feel pressure to get the weight off. Maybe you are exhausted from being on another diet. Maybe you wonder whether you can stick with a healthy lifestyle or whether it is worth giving up familiar comfort foods.
You are not alone.
Every great success story begins with a simple yes. Every woman who is now walking in freedom from her weight struggle once stood exactly where you are standing.
If you feel the nudge toward obedience to God’s better ways and you are saying, “I am done letting this control my life,” then today is your day to say yes.
This is when you begin identifying as a Fit Mom.
If you want support and community, join us inside Fit Moms Academy at kelseywickenhauser.com/join. We will walk this road with you step by step.

ARMOR is a five step framework that helps you approach any holiday event with confidence. Use these steps to create your personal battle plan for the season.
This is your first line of defense.
Before the event, pray something like:
“Lord, give me wisdom, self control, and peace. Help me enjoy this evening without bondage.”
This shifts your mindset from reactive to intentional. If you need a reminder, place a sticky note on your steering wheel or bathroom mirror.
Choose an anchoring Scripture to support you:
Let His truth steady you before you walk into the room.
Many women fall off track because they forget who they are becoming.
Before the party ask yourself:
Why am I on this health journey?
How do I want to feel tomorrow morning?
What freedom has God already given me?
Your identity shapes your behavior. Picture January 1. Will it feel worth it to indulge at every event if it leaves you discouraged and physically depleted?
Think of this holiday season as training ground. You are learning how to stay healthy in real life and not just when conditions are perfect.
Walking into a party hungry makes you vulnerable. Protein helps stabilize your blood sugar and calm your nervous system so cravings lose their power.
Protein ideas from the episode:
Eat protein before you go if possible. At the event, start with protein first and allow 15 to 20 minutes for your brain to register satisfaction.
Stay hydrated so you do not confuse thirst with hunger.
You do not need to show up hoping for the best. Decide in advance what your boundaries will be.
Ask yourself:
Will I have a treat today?
If yes, which treat is worth it?
How do I want to feel when I leave?
If there is a table of mediocre store bought cookies, skip them. Save your yes for something special like a homemade dessert you genuinely enjoy.
Healthy boundaries are not restrictive. They are freeing. They put you in the driver’s seat rather than the food table or the opinions of others.
Inside Fit Moms Academy we are practicing a “this or that” mindset. You choose what is worth it and release what is not.
The enemy loves to attack your mindset during the holidays. Thoughts show up like:
“It is the holidays. Who cares?”
“You already messed up.”
“You can start again Monday.”
“This does not count.”
These thoughts create a loop of guilt and overeating.
Renew your mind with truth instead:
I walk by the Spirit.
Self control belongs to me.
I am stewarding this body with honor.
I do not need perfection to honor God.
Renewing your mind breaks the cycle and keeps you moving forward with peace.
If you need a place where you can renew your mind daily, Fit Moms Academy provides support, accountability, and strategies so the holiday season becomes an opportunity for growth instead of a setback.
You do not need to fear holiday parties. You do not need to hide near the food table. You do not need to walk into January feeling defeated.
You can walk into every environment wearing your spiritual armor, confident and prepared.
Use the Armor Method.
Ask God for help.
Remember your why.
Start with protein.
Own your boundaries.
Renew your mind again and again.
This is how you enjoy the season with peace and purpose.
Keep shedding the burden and shining your light.
