Today on the Kingdom Fit Moms Podcast, you get to meet one of our incredible Fit Moms, Trisha — a warm, humble, joy-filled mom from a tiny town in southern Manitoba, Canada.
Her story is powerful, relatable, and such a beautiful picture of what happens when you invite God into your health journey.
My prayer is that as you read her words and hear her heart, you’ll feel encouraged, seen, and reminded that her story can absolutely become your story too.
Let’s dive in.
Trisha has lived in the same small Manitoba town her entire life. She’s been married for 15 years and has three kids (ages 11, 9, and 6).
She also recently discovered that another Fit Mom lives just 15 minutes from her — and now they run into each other constantly, even at hockey practice. A little God wink right there.
When I asked Trisha what she’s loving right now, she shared:
She’s creative, fun, and so open about the journey she’s been on.
Trisha shared that she has been overweight for as long as she can remember.
Some of her earliest memories include:
She described going through seasons of googling solutions, looking for the “next plan,” and hoping something would finally stick.
She tried:
And while calorie counting helped her lose 70 pounds in seven months, she remembers sitting in church with aching bones because she was starving herself.
Her words:
“Did that even matter if I was torturing my body to get there?”
This is the moment so many women can relate to — the realization that “success” came at the cost of health and peace.
Trisha found the Kingdom Fit Moms Podcast last December and started listening faithfully every week.
She told me what drew her in:
“It wasn’t hardcore. It wasn’t Jillian Michaels yelling at me. It was loving… and focused on God.”
Eventually she joined one of our free bootcamps in the spring…
and ended up becoming the grand prize winner.
(She jokes that it was meant to be.)
She’s now been inside Fit Moms Academy for six months — and everything has changed.

When I asked Trisha how life looks today, she said:
“Absolutely everything has changed.”
She has:
She thinks differently about food now.
She eats to nourish, not to punish.
She has learned to add healthy fats, choose real food, and pay attention to how meals make her feel.
She shared a powerful example:
Old Trisha: “Of course I’ll grab McDonald’s on the way into the city.”
New Trisha: “I don’t even want that anymore… not because it doesn’t taste good, but because I don’t want to do that to my body.”
That is transformation.
This is one of my favorite parts of Trisha’s story.
She admitted she loves control — and that white-knuckling her way through diets felt “easier” because she could rely on her own strength.
But it never lasted.
Today, everything is different.
Each morning during her devotion time, she prays:
“God, I can’t do this without You. What do You want to tell me today about my nutrition, my fitness, or my injuries?”
That daily dependence has changed everything.
She said:
“If I continue to put God at the forefront, I can’t not succeed.”
He’s the fuel.
He’s the map.
She’s simply choosing to follow.
And she now knows she needs Him every single day — even in food decisions.
Trisha lit up when I asked about the community inside Fit Moms Academy.
She shared:
The kind of accountability and love she’s describing is rare… but it’s the heartbeat of Fit Moms Academy.
We don’t do this alone.
We do it together — with God at the center.
If you were sitting across from Trisha today, this is what she’d say:
“Take it one step at a time.
Build your new foundation piece by piece.
And when you make a mistake, you don’t go off the rails.
You go right back to the foundation you’ve built.”
She shared that she recently had a piece of cake she didn’t plan to eat — and instead of spiraling, she simply returned to her habits.
Food no longer controls her.
She makes choices with clarity and peace — and that is freedom.
Trisha’s story is such a beautiful reminder that you can walk in freedom from food, weight obsession, and the shame that has followed you for years.
Her story is proof that:
You don’t have to white-knuckle your health anymore.
You don’t have to do it alone.
And your past does not get the final say.
