For years, I thought I could out-exercise a bad diet.
I’d wake up early, hit a workout, eat “pretty healthy” all day—then find myself in bed at night with a bar of Trader Joe’s chocolate, promising that tomorrow would be different.
It wasn’t that I didn’t want to be healthy.
I just couldn’t seem to stay consistent.
And deep down, I knew the problem wasn’t really food—it was that I wasn’t living in freedom.
At some point, I realized I didn’t need another meal plan, calorie tracker, or restriction rule.
I needed healing.
So I stopped striving in my own strength and started praying differently.
For a long time, my prayer for weight loss sounded like this:
“Lord, help me stay motivated.”
It wasn’t a bad prayer—but it kept me stuck in self-effort.
Then one day, my Christian health coach heart finally caught up to my faith. I realized I needed to surrender this part of my life completely to God.
My new prayer became:
“Lord, help me be transformed in every way.
Let me be a living sacrifice—holy and pleasing to You.”
That shift changed everything. My habits, my mindset, even my cravings began to look different.
Because this wasn’t about dieting anymore—it was about worship.
